Carlos Edwards is the 7th & 8th Grade English teacher at APCS. He has been in the Asheville area for about one year, when his family moved from Greenville, SC after living there 5 years .He attended USC Upstate and graduated with a BA in Middle School Education. He had also taught at Sevier Middle School in Greenville for 2 years. He was first connected with APCS due to one of the church members at Foster SDA informing him of a position that had opened up at APCS.
He thinks that his position at APCS gives insight to the fact that teachers at APCS have the opportunity to mentor and provide lessons in life to many of our students. He thinks each class is intimate so every teacher can truly work 1 on 1 with each student. His hope for APCS is that we can continue to attract private and motivated students who are willing to work hard and put God first in all they do.
While not at APCS, he is grading papers, preparing lessons, and enjoying his family. He has a wife and a son. His wife is a controller for ConMat, working in their Plastics Division. His son is two years old and loves to read and draw. Carlos also enjoys reading, playing sports, and being in the outdoors. He enjoys camping and driving off-road. He says people may be surprised that he enjoys singing and that he is a champion Hula-Hooper.
